A LC/MS method for the simultaneous determination of both type A and type B trichothecenes by using an electrospray ionization (ESI) interface in the positive ionization mode with a single quadrupole analyzer is described. In order to enhance the ionization of both groups of trichothecenes, the sodium ion was used as cationization agent by adding sodium chloride to the eluent. All LC/MS parameters were optimized. Abstract
