Neutral rhodol-based red emitters are shown to efficiently localize in mitochondria, as demonstrated by confocal microscopy and co-localization studies. A simple model is proposed to explain the localization mechanism of neutral molecules. Abstract

Neutral rhodol-based red emitters are shown to efficiently localize in mitochondria, as demonstrated by confocal microscopy and co-localization studies.
