A stable, fast, inexpensive device, based on a AT-at IO-MHz quam crystal microbalance arranged in an opportune sensor chamber and connected with a proper receptor selective for molecular recognition of aromatic and chlorinated compounds, is here presented. Accurate measurements of toluene and trichloroethylene (chosen as model compounds) can be performed in water solutions down to few ppm.

Abstract

A stable, fast, inexpensive device, based on a AT-at IO-MHz quam crystal microbalance arranged in an opportune sensor chamber and connected with a proper receptor selective for molecular recognition of aromatic and chlorinated compounds, is here presented. Accurate measurements of toluene and trichloroethylene (chosen as model compounds) can be performed in water solutions down to few ppm.
