The present thesis work handles the synthesis and studies of ligands for interactions with different biomolecules adapting the strategy of small molecules and supramolecules according to the goals. While the effectiveness of small molecules for this purpose has enabled the development of drugs, supramolecules have never been used as drugs but their use, in some cases, has been highly effective in interacting with biomolecules. In this regard, the calixarene scaffold was selected for the flexibility demonstrated in the selective and multiple functionalization.

Abstract

The present thesis work handles the synthesis and studies of ligands for interactions with different biomolecules adapting the strategy of small molecules and supramolecules according to the goals. While the effectiveness of small molecules for this purpose has enabled the development of drugs, supramolecules have never been used as drugs but their use, in some cases, has been highly effective in interacting with biomolecules. In this regard, the calixarene scaffold was selected for the flexibility demonstrated in the selective and multiple functionalization.
