The paper examines how Valerio Evangelisti took inspiration from Dante’s Inferno for his Eymerich saga. Evangelisti considers the Middle Ages a mirror of the present and depicts history as a complex system of interrelated events and characters which are mutually linked. In creating a medieval atmosphere which is synchronous with other eras, the author often evokes images and characters from Dante’s Inferno.
