The role of Brics countries in global development: the new development bank and the 'multilateral network' model

the world has recently been living profound changes: from economic and environmental challenges to an unprecedented pandemic, countries are changing the way they portray themselves to the rest of the world. amidst this evolution, the BRICS countries have become a worldwide group facing new and exciting opportunities, both for the group's members as well as for the rest of the countries all around the globe. this chapter aims to shed a light on the particular role the BRICS have been playing (and will play) in the context of global development, from cooperation through the establishment of new economic institutions such as the New Development Bank (NDB), to the creation of emergency funds to cope with the raging pandemic.
