This article illustrates an experimental test campaign to study the bond of post-tensioning strands in the presence of grout injection defects and artificial electrochemical corrosion. The paper investigates the bond by pull-out tests on concrete prisms containing a 7-wire strand in the centre of a metal duct. Plastic elements were inserted between the duct and the strand to simulate injection defects. Pull-out tests were used to evaluate the relationship between bond stresses and strand slip with respect to concrete for different levels of corrosion and defects. The results can be used to calibrate local bondslip models for theoretical studies as well as finite element simulations of post-tensioned corroded beams.

Abstract
