This contribution, after a systematic overview on the subject of medically assisted procreation and an analysis of relevant constitutional case law precedents, comments on and examines the judgments of the Constitutional Court, 22 May 2025, numbers 68 and 69, in which, respectively, the Court, on the one hand, allowed a child born in Italy to a woman who had undergone assisted procreation techniques abroad to be legally recognised as the child also of the non-birth mother and, on the other hand, denied the access to such techniques to single women.
