The article analyzes Julian’s thoughts and terminological usages in musical matters, tracing their Platonic roots. In matters of sacred chant, furthermore, the article highlights the similarity between Julian’s views (letter 109) and those of Augustine, as expressed in chapter 33 of the Confessions.
