Italian dialects have a long-standing lexicographic tradition, which has led to the publication of numerous resources such as dictionaries and glossaries, both monolingual and bilingual. While these resources are crucial for the preservation and study of dialects, they often exist as isolated items, making it difficult to retrieve information and to identify similarities and differences among various dialects, between dialects and standard Italian, and within Romance linguistics. This article aims to demonstrate the feasibility and usefulness of integrating dialectology with the Linked Data paradigm by presenting the creation of the knowledge base of the Parma dialect and the modeling of an Italian–Parmigiano glossary (VLP). Specifically, we outline the adopted methodology and present examples that demonstrate how the interlinking of heterogeneous resources can support various types of linguistic analysis.
