This preliminary study aims to investigate the phenomena of band-gap formation in fluid-filled periodic structures, including periodic liquid vibration absorbers. The prediction of stop-bands of the system is based on the study of the unit cell, which is modelled using the dynamic stiffness matrix approach. This method is applied for a more explicit computation of the band structure in terms of the relevant parameters of the problem. An illustrative case based on a simplified mechanical model is introduced and results are discussed.
