AI (and in general the digital world) is already, and will become more and more, an essential element in people’s lives and in the system of social relations; and one of the greatest events in human history. It will challenge us in the major categories of our actions, such as intelligence, autonomy, responsibility, the way we socialize, but in this challenge it will probably «invite us to reflect more seriously and with less complacency on who we are, could be or would like to become, and therefore on our responsibilities and the understanding we have of ourselves».Law, especially with its fundamental principles, will have an important role to play in this moving context, to maintain and guide the development of this technology towards the centrality of the human being, his experience and his rights.

Abstract
AI (and in general the digital world) is already, and will become more and more, an essential element in people’s lives and in the system of social relations; and one of the greatest events in human history. It will challenge us in the major categories of our actions, such as intelligence, autonomy, responsibility, the way we socialize, but in this challenge it will probably «invite us to reflect more seriously and with less complacency on who we are, could be or would like to become, and therefore on our responsibilities and the understanding we have of ourselves».Law, especially with its fundamental principles, will have an important role to play in this moving context, to maintain and guide the development of this technology towards the centrality of the human being, his experience and his rights.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
