The 2012 Emilia earthquake highlighted the vulnerability of cultural heritage. It is now necessary to develop tools for preventing future seismic damage, utilizing all available sciences and techniques to protect cultural assets. This research proposes a methodology for seismic risk management and damage prevention through the use of GIS systems, using fortified architecture as an example of the fragility of historic masonry structures. The designed geodatabase revealed significant correlations between constructive features, occurrence of damage mechanisms and seismic accelerations, through statistical analysis of the cataloged data. Based on these correlations, fragility curves were developed. The result is the identification of potential risk scenarios, which can be used to prioritize interventions and facilitate the implementation of conservation strategies.

Abstract
The result is the identification of potential risk scenarios, which can be used to prioritize interventions and facilitate the implementation of conservation strategies.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
