In the graphic narration Los últimos de Filipinas, screenwriter Fernando Llor, cartoonist Raúl Orte and colorist Jorge Hov reconstruct the exciting story of Baler's heroes, a group of fifty-three military and three religious who, unaware of Spain's defeat by the United States in 1898, held out in the church of Baler (Luzon) for almost a year (337 days) against the Filipino independentists. On one hand, the work reveals how non-fiction genres have become increasingly important in contemporary comics, and on the other hand, how comics have become an ideal method for recovering and reviewing historical events.

Abstract
In the graphic narration Los últimos de Filipinas, screenwriter Fernando Llor, cartoonist Raúl Orte and colorist Jorge Hov reconstruct the exciting story of Baler's heroes, a group of fifty-three military and three religious who, unaware of Spain's defeat by the United States in 1898, held out in the church of Baler (Luzon) for almost a year (337 days) against the Filipino independentists. On one hand, the work reveals how non-fiction genres have become increasingly important in contemporary comics, and on the other hand, how comics have become an ideal method for recovering and reviewing historical events.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
