The contribution analyses, through the words of its creator, the exhibition design for the show Giotto, l’Italia at Palazzo Reale in Milan (2 September 2015-10 January 2016) realized by Mario Bellini Architects, creating a highly evocative ‘scenic machine’ that is at the same time attentive to both the conservation dimension and the contextual reading of the masterpieces by the Tuscan master. In the interview, the main innovative components of the design project are explored in depth, including the choice of semi-darkness, the creation of rigorous and minimalist ostensive devices in black iron, the attention paid to the use of special display systems, and the multimedia reconstruction created to visualize the techniques and state of Giotto's paintings in the Peruzzi Chapel in Florence.

Abstract
The contribution analyses, through the words of its creator, the exhibition design for the show Giotto, l’Italia at Palazzo Reale in Milan (2 September 2015-10 January 2016) realized by Mario Bellini Architects, creating a highly evocative ‘scenic machine’ that is at the same time attentive to both the conservation dimension and the contextual reading of the masterpieces by the Tuscan master. In the interview, the main innovative components of the design project are explored in depth, including the choice of semi-darkness, the creation of rigorous and minimalist ostensive devices in black iron, the attention paid to the use of special display systems, and the multimedia reconstruction created to visualize the techniques and state of Giotto's paintings in the Peruzzi Chapel in Florence.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
