The relationship between educators/teachers and family members is a crucial issue in ecec services and schools, as itpromotes children's well-being, motivation to learn and academic success, prevents social inequalities, reinforces parentalempowerment and strengthens social networks. However, such relationships are often prone to conflict, and they putinto question the very meaning of the educational relationship as a device that produces processes of subjection andsubjectification. The contribution discusses some of the conditions for such a relationship to become an exercise indemocracy and participation today, even in times of neoliberalism
La relazione tra educatori / insegnanti e figure familiari – nei servizi per l’infanzia e nella scuola – costituisce un temacruciale in quanto promuove benessere, motivazione ad apprendere e buona riuscita accademica dei bambini, previene disuguaglianze sociali, rinforza l’empowerment genitoriale e rafforza reti sociali. Tuttavia, tali relazioni sono spesso ter-reno di scontro e interrogano il senso stesso della relazione educativa, in quanto dispositivo che produce processi di as-soggettamento e di soggettivazione. Il contributo problematizza alcune condizioni affinché tale relazione possa divenireoggi, pur in tempi di neoliberismo, esercizio di democrazia e di partecipazione.
