Abstract
In a relatively limited area of nothern Italy, churches dating from around 1200 can be observed whose apses feature a particular motif reminiscent of machicolations. This motif is derived from the niches of early Romanesque Art, and was taken up again in the Po Valley during Gothic period, reproposing an early Romanesque structural machanism with a new parietal decoration.File in questo prodotto:
