Il paesaggio come iperteatro

According to the geographer Eugenio Turri, the metaphor of the “landscape as theater” is particularly effective because it provides a key to interpreting the space that surrounds us as a place of activity of man, where he at the same time plays the role of actor and spectator. The aim of this essay is to update this metaphor by taking into consideration the characteristics of the landscapes that arise from the use of digital systems based on georeferencing and augmented reality, showing how these solutions have now become part of our perception of places at the point to profoundly modify the way in which we enter into relationship with them. The landscapes that we observe through ICT are therefore hypertheaters, or interfaces between us (hyperactors) and the real world in which enormous quantities of data are conveyed and represented with known features (maps, images) but with effects, and outcomes, of the all original.

Secondo il geografo Eugenio Turri, la metafora del «paesaggio come teatro» risulta particolarmente efficace perché ci consente di interpretare lo spazio che ci circonda come luogo di attività dell’uomo allo stesso tempo attore e spettatore. L’obiettivo di questo saggio consiste nel declinare tale metafora nella dimensione dei paesaggi che scaturiscono dalla fruizione dei sistemi digitali basati sulla georeferenziazione e sulla realtà aumentata, mostrando come tali soluzioni siano ormai entrate a far parte della nostra percezione dei luoghi al punto da modificare profondamente il modo con cui ci relazioniamo con essi. I paesaggi che le ICT ci consentono di contemplare sono dunque iperteatri ovvero interfacce tra noi (iperattori) e il mondo reale nelle quali enormi quantità di dati vengono convogliate e rappresentate con sembianze note (le mappe, le immagini) ma con effetti, ed esiti, del tutto originali.
