In this research work, a high-frequency converter with GaN devices is proposed for a reliable specific automotive application. Core of the circuit is a high-frequency transformer, able to work at 5 MHz switching frequency with relevant power absorption peaks. 3D finite element method (FEM) simulations are provided for different transformers and a first prototype has been tested. Considerations about geometry, mutual inductance, current limitations, and thermal behavior are explored through dedicated simulations.

Abstract
In this research work, a high-frequency converter with GaN devices is proposed for a reliable specific automotive application. Core of the circuit is a high-frequency transformer, able to work at 5 MHz switching frequency with relevant power absorption peaks. 3D finite element method (FEM) simulations are provided for different transformers and a first prototype has been tested. Considerations about geometry, mutual inductance, current limitations, and thermal behavior are explored through dedicated simulations.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
