Optic nerve sheath decompression is an increasingly useful surgical technique for relief of visual loss due to pseudotumor cerebri and to a number of optic disc pathologic conditions. Eight patients (10 eyes) with progressive visual loss were treated by perioptic meningectomy using a lateral orbitotomy approach with good results. We report our experience illustrating briefly the indications and result and mainly the surgical technique.

Abstract
Optic nerve sheath decompression is an increasingly useful surgical technique for relief of visual loss due to pseudotumor cerebri and to a number of optic disc pathologic conditions. Eight patients (10 eyes) with progressive visual loss were treated by perioptic meningectomy using a lateral orbitotomy approach with good results. We report our experience illustrating briefly the indications and result and mainly the surgical technique.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
