An experimental research study to verify the application of the "Equiviscous Temperature" (EVT) concept, related to a defined "Low Shear Viscosity" (LSV), as an indicator for the rutting susceptibility of bitumen is presented in this paper. New paving performance-related characterisation methodologies using dynamic shear tests in low frecuency oscillation mode, as expected in future European Standards, are analysed in natural and Polymer-modified Bitumens (with different modification levels), unaged and short-term aged, comparing the results with the specification and characterisation SHRP-Superpave system. The results show that performance differences between pure and modified bitumens are better taken into account with the new proposed specification criterion, specially suitable for PmBs.

Abstract
An experimental research study to verify the application of the "Equiviscous Temperature" (EVT) concept, related to a defined "Low Shear Viscosity" (LSV), as an indicator for the rutting susceptibility of bitumen is presented in this paper. New paving performance-related characterisation methodologies using dynamic shear tests in low frecuency oscillation mode, as expected in future European Standards, are analysed in natural and Polymer-modified Bitumens (with different modification levels), unaged and short-term aged, comparing the results with the specification and characterisation SHRP-Superpave system. The results show that performance differences between pure and modified bitumens are better taken into account with the new proposed specification criterion, specially suitable for PmBs.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
