Abstract

In this study single-board computers, like Raspberry Pi, assembled with inexpensive opto-electronic components have been used to realize smart and friendlyinterface diagnostic tools which have been successfully tested and compared with more expensive and complicated lab equipment like a spectrophotometer. A dedicated python software and a wireless connection with smartphone or tablet provides the data processing and the analysis control. This approach has the potentiality for portable and reliable diagnostics and opens new opportunities in research and education.
