In this work a Nd doped PG with high Tg and high refractive index was manufactured and used to produce a core/cladding rod structure, using a cladding passive PG composition with compatible thermo-mechanical properties. The optical and fluorescence properties of the active glass resulted to be comparable to those of commercial glasses, but Tg and refractive index measurements show higher values for these two parameters. Dilatometry measurements (Netzsch, DIL 402 PC) show CTE values that are lower with respect to common Nd glasses but slightly higher than Qx/Nd athermal glass.

Abstract
In this work a Nd doped PG with high Tg and high refractive index was manufactured and used to produce a core/cladding rod structure, using a cladding passive PG composition with compatible thermo-mechanical properties. The optical and fluorescence properties of the active glass resulted to be comparable to those of commercial glasses, but Tg and refractive index measurements show higher values for these two parameters. Dilatometry measurements (Netzsch, DIL 402 PC) show CTE values that are lower with respect to common Nd glasses but slightly higher than Qx/Nd athermal glass.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
