This research starts from previous studies (Cardarello, Gariboldi, Antonietti 2005, 2006; Cardarello, Martini, Antonietti 2008) investigating teachers’ opinion about their profession. Through a questionnaire 714 Italian teachers of preschool and primary school were interviewed about “good class teachers” competences and teaching problems. The aim of this study is to compare class teachers (311 teachers) and support teachers (140 teacher) opinion about the most important teaching competences for teaching children with special needs.
