The requalification of the historical heritage is becoming one of the most interesting themes of the last few years. Several studies on listed buildings show how their negative energy performance influences the overall Italian energy balance. In the energy retrofit of the historical heritage the project has to maintain the building formal complexity: the technological innovation aims to integrate plants distribution system and other necessary components for the building new use. In particular, the design of the plant distribution system has to be careful and sustainable because it represents the most difficult element to integrate in the historical environment. It is possible to design visible or hidden components: in fact the requalification of an historical building offers the possibility of connecting ancient to modern language and allows to achieve similar energy results to new buildings.

Abstract
The requalification of the historical heritage is becoming one of the most interesting themes of the last few years. Several studies on listed buildings show how their negative energy performance influences the overall Italian energy balance. In the energy retrofit of the historical heritage the project has to maintain the building formal complexity: the technological innovation aims to integrate plants distribution system and other necessary components for the building new use. In particular, the design of the plant distribution system has to be careful and sustainable because it represents the most difficult element to integrate in the historical environment. It is possible to design visible or hidden components: in fact the requalification of an historical building offers the possibility of connecting ancient to modern language and allows to achieve similar energy results to new buildings.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
