Ashy dermatosis is a not uncommon variety of cutaneous hyperpigmentation occurring particularly in Latin America. Clinical features include hyperpigmented macules of blueish-grayish color different size and shape which tend to coalesce in larger areas of several cm with an erythematous elevated peripheral rim surrounded by an hypochromic hald. The Authors describe two clinical cases and discuss the main laboratory and clinical differences between lichen planus pigmentosus and ashy dermatosis.

Abstract
Ashy dermatosis is a not uncommon variety of cutaneous hyperpigmentation occurring particularly in Latin America. Clinical features include hyperpigmented macules of blueish-grayish color different size and shape which tend to coalesce in larger areas of several cm with an erythematous elevated peripheral rim surrounded by an hypochromic hald. The Authors describe two clinical cases and discuss the main laboratory and clinical differences between lichen planus pigmentosus and ashy dermatosis.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
