The author studies the rhetoric in a psycho-dynamic point of view. In the first section of the text, he presents the main theories of symbolism in the psycho-analysis, and shows that this kind of symbol can be precisely a part of the rhetoric. In the second section he analyzes the figures of speech in the autobiographical tales as expressions of mechanisms of defence. In conclusion he exposes some neuroscientific theories about rhetoric to confirm his previous observations.
