The reading “O factum male, o miselle passer!” is not to be attributed to the editio Parmensis (1473), despite general agreement among recent edi- tors about its attribution. A manuscript, London, British Library, Egerton 3027 (1467), seems to be its oldest witness. Earlier manuscripts, however, include separate parts of the reading. That’s why the scribe of Egerton 3207, the poet and scholar Pacifico Massimi, is not be definetly credited with this emendation to the inconsistent reading of O G R at 3,16 bonum factum bonus ille passer.
