Positive Psychology as a forerunner of the most relevant models in Clinical Psychology Psychopathology and Psychotherapy

Abstract: This article offers a brief review of the different perspectives existing in the wide field of Positive Psychology (PP). It pays attention to its story and the evolution, describing also the newest contributions. Each aspect is described trying to offer examples and metaphors in order to get an explanation as clear as possible. It shifts from the implementation of the PP in “normal” life, as in absence of psychopathology, as a tool to reach subjective well-being and happiness, to the new psychotherapeutic approaches (WBT, DBT, ACT) that lie on this theoretical stream. In particular in Psychopathology and Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry, the new model of symptoms interpretation and management could be a very useful aid in most of the integrate treatments.
