This article deals with the phenomenology of transience in the work of Milo De Angelis. Some ontological themes of his work are traced back to a hidden quotation from Sartre’s Nausea that isto be found in De Angelis’ first book Somiglianze (Resemblances). Attention is paid to the cognitive role of figuration in its relation with contemporary art, and with the Leitmotiv of ‘resemblance’ and of re-cognition.
