Alessandro Benedetti i Federik Grisogono, svjedoci kuge

The life of Alessandro Benedetti, doctor and professor from Padua, scattered between Italy, Dalmatia and Greece, seems to be intertwined with the of one of his croatian teacher, Federico Grisogono. Both worried about the pandemic that cyclically ravaged Europe in the fifteenth and sixteenth century, they wrote a brief essay about the plague. This paper analyzes in detail their etiological, diagnostic and prognostic approach to infectious diseases. Their contribution, thanks to the traditional medical thought, reveals a debate and a steady development of scientific thought.
