Abstract - The features of approximation as a topic of Italian programmes from 2007 on are presented and their relevance is emphasised. For investigating if today the topic is customary we administered a questionnaire. It showed us that the topic is non 'popular' aminly among teachers of high secondary school. We suppose that it is a consequence of a teacher's scarce knowledge of the topic and the necessity of a change of 'point of view' in teh meaning of Vanderbrouck (2011)
