EVALUATION OF INDUSTRIAL INVESTMENTS: SOME HYPOTHESIS OF METHODOLOGICAL IMPROVEMENT

This article analyzes the industrial investments evaluation according to different approaches; we consider economic and financial approaches to the evaluation, in the short and medium / long time horizon. The article analyzes the characteristics and limitations of different evaluation approaches proposing some possible improving of the methodology: in the article are shown some innovative approaches to the evaluation taking into account the cost of debt and the return of capital, even considering the rate applied to discount cash flows of investments. Finally, we analyze the relationship between economic performance indices and financial assessment indices to quantify the minimum required return on equity capital.
