RBV is effective in vitro against flaviviruses responsible for encephalitis. Its efficacy at central level is hindered by bloodbrain barrier leading to low intracerebral concentrations. The aim of this work was to assess transport and distribution of ribavirin (RBV) in central nervous system after intranasal administration of an aqueous solution of the drug.
