Five patients with diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension secondary to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were studied acutely to assess the effects of a vasodilator, Diltiazem, on central hemodynamic function. Diltiazem is a member of the class of pharmacologic agents known as calcium antagonist. The drug was administered IV by continuous infusion at 0.22 mg/Kg. Hemodynamic measurements were performed by a Swan-Ganz catheter. Diltiazem had no value in reversing high pulmonary artery pressures and resistances, but the vasodilator therapy had a greater effect on systemic vasculature. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reaxys Database Information| --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Abstract
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reaxys Database Information| --------------------------------------------------------------------------------I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
