Object of the article is a case of congenital porto-systemic shunt (PSS) in a 6 years old cat. The most important anamnestic and clinical findings were hepatic encephalopathy and ammonium urate uroliths. The diagnosis was based on clinical pathology results and abdominal ultrasonography. The cat was treated medically and had a good clinical recovery.
