In the context of international relations between the University of Parma and the Mediterranean countries, in 2006 was signed an agreement for international cooperation between the University of Parma and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of Morocco and the National School of Architecture, Rabat . The convention was born from the request made by the Moroccan authorities, to implement a restoration project on the Medina of Azemmour. In addition to a detailed analysis of the entire Medina, the attention has been focused on one area of particular interest, identified in Moulnis place, a large square surrounded on two sides by buildings, and on the other two by Portuguese walls. About this area, a detailed survey was carried out. The first phase of the survey was done by the indirect method, using a total station. By this way it was possible to locate the exact position of all the buildings facing the square, make an accurate dimensioned drawing of the area and identify the height of each building. Then the italian team proceeded to perform a direct survey in big scale of each building facing the square, paying particular attention to the analysis of the decorative architectural feature of the Moroccan city. Due to the power of Drawing, one of the more valuable buildings in the whole Medina could be saved from demolition.

Abstract
Due to the power of Drawing, one of the more valuable buildings in the whole Medina could be saved from demolition.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
