In this work, the influence of small openings, which are usually made for technological reasons, on hollow core floors strength and structural response has been investigated through a NLFE procedure based on the ap-plication of PARC constitutive model. Different locations and dimensions of the openings have been ana-lysed, with reference to the most common situations occurring in current practice. The influence of opening on strength and deformation of the hollow core slabs has been shown by comparisons with the entire floor, providing some general design recommendations concerning ultimate and serviceability limit state conditions.

Abstract
In this work, the influence of small openings, which are usually made for technological reasons, on hollow core floors strength and structural response has been investigated through a NLFE procedure based on the ap-plication of PARC constitutive model. Different locations and dimensions of the openings have been ana-lysed, with reference to the most common situations occurring in current practice. The influence of opening on strength and deformation of the hollow core slabs has been shown by comparisons with the entire floor, providing some general design recommendations concerning ultimate and serviceability limit state conditions.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
