Among Common kestrel (_Falco tinnunculus_) the carotenoid-based coloration varies between individuals and there is a great difference between adults and young. It is known that there is a correlation between carotenoid pigmentation and health, but the individual ability to obtain environmental carotenoids must be taken in consideration as well, since these pigments cannot be synthesised by animals and this access could be more difficult for species on top of trophic net.

Abstract
Among Common kestrel (_Falco tinnunculus_) the carotenoid-based coloration varies between individuals and there is a great difference between adults and young. It is known that there is a correlation between carotenoid pigmentation and health, but the individual ability to obtain environmental carotenoids must be taken in consideration as well, since these pigments cannot be synthesised by animals and this access could be more difficult for species on top of trophic net.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
