In this paper the behaviour of a precast roof element called Fly 110 and manufactured by Basso Cav. Angelo S.p.a. has been analysed. This structural element has been first experimentally tested up to failure, and then modelled by means of NLFE analysis. The numerical simulation has been performed by implementing the PARC constitutive matrix into ABAQUS FE code. The numerical results, which were in good agreement with experimental observations, showed that last collapse was first of all due to wing failure. For this reason, after the SLS and ULS verifications, the transversal reinforcement has been optimized by performing different numerical simulations where the transversal reinforcement ratio has been increased.

Abstract
