Dilated form of endocardial fibroelastosis as a result of deficiency in respiratory-chain complexes I and IV.

With this manuscript we have pictorially described a very rare case of endocardial fibroelastosis, dilated form, as a consequence of a partial deficiency in respiratory-chain complexes I and IV. This young patient died at the age of 10 months of a decompensated heart failure after progressive deterioration of her condition. In this case, we have documented the chest x-ray, the echocardiography, the electrocardiogram, the autopsy gross specimen, the histology, and the ultrastructure.
