A recent multi-authored book – La commedia latina: modelli, forma, ideologia, fortuna (Proceedings of “Giornate siracusane sul teatro antico” Siracusa, “21 aprile 2008) – ,devoted to Roman comedy and its survival up to modern times, gives the opportunity not only for a survey of the chapters, but also for some original contributions. Among them, notes on linguistic and stylistic features in Plautus’ Trinummus, on various modes of metatheatre in Terence’s Eunuchus and Hecyra, on cross references to plautine comedy and to Lucretius’ De rerum natura in the Chrysis, a comedy of the XV century by Enea Sivio Piccolomini.
