The research looks at the role of logistics as one of the levers of competitive strategy in distribution, production and today’s market in general. It focuses on packaging as an essential instrument for product conservation, for processing along the supply chain and for customer communication. It examines the state of the art and main trends in the fruit and vegetable sector, particularly affected by the issues described above, with regard to the role of “integrated logistics” in reaching the objective of optimising consumer service and needs of sales point for conservation, safety and shelf management of the product.

Abstract
