FT-IR absorption spectroscopy in the temperature range 9-300 K was used to study the vibrational modes induced by aliovalent impurities (such as P5+ and V5+) in Bi12SiO20(BSO), Bi12GeO20(BGO), and Bi12TiO20(BTO) and by traces of Ge4+ in Bi12SiO20 and of Si4+ in Bi12TiO20. Peaks due to the asymmetric F stretching mode, to its overtone, and to the combination with the symmetric A mode of the tetrahedral ImO4 unit (Im being the impurity) were detected. Weak anharmonicity effects were displayed. The role played by the host matrix and by temperature on the peak positions was examined and discussed.

Abstract
The role played by the host matrix and by temperature on the peak positions was examined and discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
