Post Weaning Disease (PWD) is still a non resolved problem in the swine practice. The withdrawal of growth promoter antibiotics from the animals feed, even if it was considered necessary to maintain the efficacy of the antibiotic for the therapy in human, in the other hand left a delicate phase of the swine breeding without valid alternatives. This work review the most important publications referring the use of Zinc Oxide at pharmacological dose rate in the piglets diet for the control of enteric disease.
