Zero-field muon-spin-rotation investigations have been performed on single crystals of La1-xSr1+xMnO4 with 0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.5. In the undoped sample spontaneous precession frequencies omega(p) have been observed signaling a long-range-ordered magnetic ground state. In contrast at intermediate doping x = 0.25 and 0.4 exhibit only short-range order. For the half-doped (x = 0.5) sample long-range magnetic order reappears.

Abstract
