The crystal structure of the new ternary stannide Yb1-xNi4Sn1+x [space group F43m (N 216), a=6.987(4) Angstrom, Z=4, V=341.1(3) Angstrom(3), p = 10.171 g cm(-3), mu=54.29 mm(-1)] was refined to R=0.0217, wR2=0.0408 from single crystal X-ray diffraction data (automatic single crystal diffractometer Philips PW1100, MoKalpha radiation). The compound belongs to the MgCu4Sn structure type of intermetallic compounds.

Abstract

The crystal structure of the new ternary stannide Yb1-xNi4Sn1+x [space group F43m (N 216), a=6.987(4) Angstrom, Z=4, V=341.1(3) Angstrom(3), p = 10.171 g cm(-3), mu=54.29 mm(-1)] was refined to R=0.0217, wR2=0.0408 from single crystal X-ray diffraction data (automatic single crystal diffractometer Philips PW1100, MoKalpha radiation).
