John Buridan's discussion on intension and remission in his Physics commentary de ultima lectura is very important for a number of different reasons. First and foremost, it is important because we find in it some precious hints to the growing interest toward a topic which is one of the most relevant aspects of the new physical and logical problems debated in Paris in the central years of XIVth century. Moreover, Buridan in his Physics commentary de ultima lectura records some solutions concerning either contrary qualities or intension and remission, which contribute to a better acquaintance to our knowledge of the different solutions proposed in the academic discussions at the University of Paris.

Abstract
John Buridan's discussion on intension and remission in his Physics commentary de ultima lectura is very important for a number of different reasons. First and foremost, it is important because we find in it some precious hints to the growing interest toward a topic which is one of the most relevant aspects of the new physical and logical problems debated in Paris in the central years of XIVth century. Moreover, Buridan in his Physics commentary de ultima lectura records some solutions concerning either contrary qualities or intension and remission, which contribute to a better acquaintance to our knowledge of the different solutions proposed in the academic discussions at the University of Paris.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
