Abstract

In the research work of this PhD thesis PNA probe were employed as building blocks to create supramolecular self-assembled architectures to produce biotechnological applications. A significant portion of the work was dedicated to the assembly of new nanostructures with controlled positioning of functional moieties. A second part was devoted to the use of PNA-based assemblies for the realization of lab-in-fiber optical biosensors, and for the creation of a novel approaches in RNA-targeting therapies.
