The present PhD thesis enclose different cutting-edge developments in the field of organometallic chemistry and it is divided into four chapters. The first chapter focuses on the development of a synthetic strategy for the diastereoselective synthesis of tetrahydropyranes through the silver(I)-promoted dimerization of cinnamyl ethers. The second chapter explores the effect of visible light intensity on the two-photon promoted intermolecular cascade of 1,6-enynes and alkenes. The third part involves the preparation of a new family of efficient Ir(III) photosensitizers adorned with pendant radical-stabilizing naphthyl functions. The final chapter investigates the synthesis of bis-phosphine allenes and their application as metallic ligands in asymmetric catalysis.
